Karanáva is a mobile cultural project built around movement, territory, and collaboration.

It began in Canada and has gradually expanded across North America, traveling through the United States and Mexico. The project is designed as an ongoing journey rather than a fixed event, with each location becoming a new chapter.

Karanáva operates in two main formats.

The first takes place in natural environments,  national parks, remote landscapes, and outdoor sites, where the caravan is deployed to create a fully autonomous festival experience. These activations are designed to integrate with the surrounding environment, combining music, visual arts, and spatial design in a temporary setting.

The second format is developed in collaboration with cities, cultural institutions, and tourism boards. In these cases, Karanava is invited to activate public spaces such as plazas, historic centers, or zócalos, often over several days or up to a full week. These events are built in dialogue with local communities and adapted to each cultural context.

Across both formats, Karanáva brings together an international network of artists, while also connecting with local talent and audiences. Each stop contributes to the evolution of the project, creating a continuous exchange between places, cultures, and creative practices.

The journey remains open.

Karanáva continues to move across territories, returning to certain regions while exploring new ones, building a growing network of locations and partnerships over time.
